A career through CTP - Jordan Huntley

Jordan began his career in the Army as a Royal Engineer at age 16, remaining there for 8 years. Upon leaving the Army Jordan was looking to build on his experience with a career transition into the construction industry.

Seeking a new challenge, Jordan with his Construction Management qualifications gained in the Army and through the Career Transition Partnership (CTP) Jordan was introduced to AJC Carpentry who were able to provided that challenge. Starting as an AJC Improver, Jordon completed a 2 year period of training; extending his knowledge and experience on site with the AJC team to gain his NVQ Level 2 Joinery & Carpentry.

Since completing his AJC Improver, Jordan has progressed to his next challenge, working as a Trainee Contracts Manager.

“I’m a Trainee Contracts Manager working under Contracts Managers, I have four jobs in total with different house builders… all house builders do things in different ways so you have to man manage those different situations… training is mostly on the job, so experience counts for a lot of what I’m doing today, so day-by-day it really is taking in as much as you can from site and from other Contracts Managers, and let it mould you into potentially becoming a Contracts Manager”

Jordan’s time at AJC has been a great success, showing the aptitude and determination to become a full Contracts Manager in the near future.

If you have an interest in becoming an AJC Improver based on your experience and interest, see our Improver careers page.
